All Aussie Avocados Pty Ltd trading as All Aussie Farmers is a fresh fruit marketing company focusing on year-round supply of Australian-grown produce specializing but not limiting itself to avocados. It has positioned itself as a supplier of premium quality fruit to consumers through high end retail, restaurants and direct marketing customers. The fresh produce industry has the reputation that whilst growers take the risk in producing the product, they typically are at the bottom end of the spectrum in terms of returns, with the wholesalers and retailers reaping the rewards. All Aussie Farmers’ intention is to change this paradigm, giving growers better returns for their effort, and supplying customers with a premium product of consistent quality giving them value for their investment.
All Aussie Farmers is comprised of a core team who have been in the fruit and vegetable industry for over 30 years. The team has experience in the areas of production, agronomy, industry advocacy and representation, sales, and business management over all sections of the fresh produce supply chain. The founders of All Aussie Farmers are Travis Murphy (Managing Director), Dudley Mitchell (Director) and Jack Wilson (Director). Travis has been working in fresh produce and the Melbourne Markets for over 30 years and built up the avocado business from scratch with yearround supply. Jack joined Travis on the floor ten years ago and has been instrumental in maintaining the clientele that Travis has developed. Dudley is well recognized in the avocado industry, serving on the board of Avocados Australia. He currently manages Avonova Farms and Prada Farms in Western Australia and is a Nuffield Scholar.
The idea behind All Aussie Farmers has developed over the last 15 years as it became apparent that growers were not receiving the full value of their efforts. We recognised the need by growers to have a long-term trustworthy partner to market their fruit and give honest returns. The company was built on the year-round supply of avocados from all growing regions of Australia and strong grower relations were formed with our suppliers which resulted in more lines being introduced. Currently we market avocados, custard apples, figs, kiwi fruit, mangoes, papaya, persimmons, garlic, passion fruit, table grapes and various herbs. Recently we have added pineapples as a major line and are looking for other new products that will fit our markets.
Our payment terms are 28 day payment to growers’ accounts. Everyone involved in All Aussie Farmers is well aware of the importance of payment security from the growers perspective. We have a very good customer base that pays on time. A lot of work has gone into establishing and maintaining these relationships to ensure that we receive payment in a timely manner. In addition, the business owners have also retained capital within the business since its inception to ensure that grower payments can be met. All Aussie Farmers is committed to its grower suppliers and with growers involved in the business, we have a solid understanding of the risks growers face and the importance of high returns and timely payment. We pride ourselves on our reputation for consistently delivering premium returns above those of other wholesalers to all our growers. Our relationships with both our customers and growers are of the utmost importance to us.
